JEE Main 2021 Changes - 10 Key points

1. Number of sessions: NTA JEE Main 2021 now has 4 sessions - February, March, April, and May. Paper-I will be conducted in all four sessions but Paper (2A & 2B) will be held in February and May sessions only.

2. No of JEE Main Attempts: Increased to 4 per year for every eligible candidate.

3. JEE Main now in 13 languages: Candidates can opt for any one of the 13 regional languages in JEE Main 2021. They can opt for English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Marathi, Malayalam, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.

4. New JEE Main exam pattern: Now candidates will have a choice to answer 5 questions from 10 questions in section B which comprises numerical questions. The MCQs will be asked under section A of the JEE Main 2021 exam.

5. Increase in Exam Cities: The number of JEE Main 2021 exam cities have been increased.

6. Best of NTA JEE 2021 scores: To compute the All India Rank in the JEE Main exam, the best of the four NTA JEE Main 2021 scores will be taken.

7. Choice of applying for more than one JEE attempt: Candidates can now opt to apply for more than one JEE Main exam in the December application form itself.


 

8. Carry forward of JEE Main fee to the next attempt: Candidates can pay for JEE Main 2021 fees for all four sessions (February/March/April/May). However, candidates who have missed appearing for one of the JEE Main 2021 exams can opt to carry forward the fee paid to one of the next sessions. In case a candidate does not want to appear in any of the JEE Main exam sessions for which the fee has already been paid, it will be refunded by NTA. The refund request must be placed during the JEE Main application form 2021 filling process from which the candidate wants to withdraw.

9. Class 12 marks for appearing in JEE Main 2021: Candidates need not have 75% in their class 12 to appear for JEE Main exam 2021. The class 12 marks will be considered only during admissions through JoSAA 2021.


 

10. JEE Main 2021 application fee: NTA has not changed the JEE Main application fee 2021. It remains the same but candidates have to pay the JEE fees for the number of sessions they opt for.

The JEE (Main) - 2021 Session - 4 was conducted throughout the country and abroad on 26, 27, 31 August and 1 September 2021 for Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech.) in the Computer Based Test (CBT) mode.
