“During my first year, I pursued my specialization as Electronic and Communication Engineering but then changed for Computer Science Engineering 4year B.Tech. Course and now, serving as a software engineer.”
Can life be more adventures?

Basically Computer Science Engineering - A coder’s love
And, Electronics and Communication Engineering – life around electronics
Many say “Computer Science Engineering is just for good coders”. It’s for a student interested in programming, software development and has good analytical and reasoning skills. I too believe in this but it only one side of the coin. Computer Science Engineering is also about testing networking, integrated and very large scale integrated circuits (mainly chips and ICs i.e. small units). However, computer programs consist of two division lower one as Math’s course (computation and conversion), introductory programming (algorithms, flowcharts) higher ones are complex programs (including file handling functional word loading etc.)
Electronic and Communication Engineering deals with electronic devices, analog and digital circuit, communication equipment (like transistor receiver) and integrated chip (ICs). It also deals with the basic electronics, reception of data (video and voice searches in FM, AM, and DTH), satellite communication and wave preparation.
When I was in college, I asked many seniors that which is better CSE or ECE?
Most of them reply both are nice and what’s your choice it depends on that.
But, that one clear answer made my life…
Head of ECE department (HoD) told me that there are some differences between two and elaborate me on the difference between them.
He said-
From third semester subject focusing on Computer Science and disciplined will be-
ü Data Management
ü File Structures
ü C++
ü Operating system design and development
ü Microprocessors
ü Computer networks
ü Algorithm design and analysis
ü Programming using Java
ü Web data management
ü Software quality testing
While Subjects in ECE will be-
ü Circuit theory and devices
ü Principle of communication systems
ü Embedded logic design
ü Integrated Electronics
ü Signals and systems
ü Field and waves
ü Embedded logic design
Work you need to do after ECE will be-
o Design and maintain satellites (which needed for TV, Internet, and Mobile calling).
o Also, create advanced communication facilities (like video conference which brings people together from all over the world).
o Develop programs for various control and communication system.
Work you need to do after CSE will be-
o Code programs even 100 line in one go.
o Find bugs in programs.
o Update old programs.
o Develop programs with advanced features.
You can be one of these after doing ECE-
v Service engineer
v Software analyst
v Technical directed
v Field testing engineer
v Senior sales manager
v Network planning engineer
v Consumer report engineer
v Electronics and communications consultant
v Research and development software engineer
v Lecturer (after PhD)
Job after CSE-
v Software engineer
v Software tester
v Project manager
v Application Developers
v Lecturer (after PhD)
v One may start one’s own programming and software development venture becomes self-employed and also one can also join for Cybersecurity course and IT edge courses.
MBA is another choice available in front of both the graduate. It helps graduate obtain management skills and thus improve qualifications and starting salary between 3 to 4 Lakhs per year or even more.
At last, you have to make a decision yourself…
As
“The only person who can influence your decision is you yourself”
I can even feel him speaking these words after years.
So, guys, I submit here some facts.
Now,
Which you think is better CSE or ECE?
Waiting for your replies…
