JEE Main Counselling & Seat Allotment 2019: Schedule & Procedure

JoSAA 2019: JoSAA counselling schedule has been released on the official website, josaa.nic.in. Choice filling commences from today, June 16. Check out the important instructions here

JoSAA Counselling 2019: Joint Seat Allocation Authority conducts the Counselling and Seat Allocation Process for 23 IITs, 31 NITs, 25 IIITs, and 28 Other-GFTIs. Candidates qualifying in JEE Main and JEE Advanced 2019 will have to register themselves for JoSAA counselling.




Exclusive: JoSAA 2019 registration available till June 25.
Important: If the candidates have appeared for JEE Advanced, then use your JEE Advanced password else use the JEE Main password.

JoSAA Counselling has been started from June 16 onwards. Candidates can visit the official website i.e., josaa.nic.in to register themselves. 

  • JEE Main qualifiers are eligible to register for seat allocation in NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs only.
  • While candidates who have qualified JEE Advanced, are eligible to register for seat allocation in IITs and all other participating institutes.
  • JoSAA Counselling starts with Registration followed by Choice Filling and Locking and ends with Seat Allotment and Reporting to the colleges. 
  • Seat Acceptance fees for General candidates is 35,000 and 15,000 for reserved candidates. 
Candidates who do not register within the specified time window will not be able to seek admission for this academic year. JoSAA Counselling Registration

The stepwise guidelines for JoSAA Registration are discussed below. The choice filling commences with online registration and creating candidates’ profile.

Step 1: Online Registration

  • Click on JoSAA 2019 Candidate Registration and Choice Filling at official JoSAA Website.
  • Login using JEE Main/JEE Advanced Application Number and Password.
  • Go to the Candidate’s Profile and ensure that all the personal details shown are correct. Only contact details can be changed if required.
  • Click on the Change Password tab and complete this compulsory process.
  • Click on “Submit Changes”
