JoSAA Counselling 2019 (Started) for JEE Main and JEE Advanced (Choice Filling & Locking the Choices)

JoSAA Counselling 2019: Joint Seat Allocation Authority conducts the Counselling and Seat Allocation Process for 23 IITs, 31 NITs, 25 IIITs, and 28 Other-GFTIs. Candidates qualifying in JEE Main and JEE Advanced 2019 will have to register themselves for JoSAA counselling.




JoSAA 2019 Eligibility Criteria

  • For those seeking admission through JoSAA Counselling 2019, following eligibility conditions are mandatorily required:
  • Qualifying JEE Advanced 2019 for academic programs [excluding the preparatory courses] at IITs.
OR
  • Qualification in JEE Advanced 2019 for preparatory courses at IITs and must satisfactory performance in Class 12 (or equivalent) examination.
OR
  • They should fulfil the following eligibility to appear for counselling for B.E or B.Tech Program:
  • A rank in JEE Main 2019 Paper-1 for B.E./B.Tech. Programs at NITs, IIITs, and Other-GFTIs
  • Passed Class 12 (or equivalent) exam with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Technical Vocational subject.
OR
  • Candidates should satisfy the following eligibility to apply for counselling for the Architecture Program:
  • Secure a rank in JEE Main 2019 Paper-2 for B.Arch./B.Planning programs at NITs, IIEST, IIITs, and Other-GFTIs. 
  • Have Mathematics as one of the subjects in Class 12 (or equivalent) examination. 



JoSAA Counselling Registration

The stepwise guidelines for JoSAA Registration are discussed below. The choice filling commences with online registration and creating candidates’ profile.

Step 2: Choice Filling

  • After registration, candidates will have to fill their preferred colleges and specialization with the available list of colleges and courses. 
  • Click on “Choices Available” to view the options candidate has as per his/her qualification.
  • Next, go to ‘Choice Filling & Locking’, fill enough choices to enhance your chances of getting a seat.
It is to be noted that choice filling is free of cost. 

Step 3: Locking the Choices

  • After filling the choices, candidates have to lock the seats which can be done by clicking on “I agree to lock my choices”.
  • In case of any modification, candidates can click on “I will lock my choices later”.
  • Finally, take a print out of selected options for further use. 
NOTE: For those who qualify both JEE Main 2019 and JEE Advanced 2019 will have all choices available (Few courses have certain restrictions). Those who will qualify only in JEE Main 2019, Choices are restricted to programs available in NITs, IIITs and Other-GFTIs. You can choose to view the available programs Institute-wise or discipline-wise. No changes can be done in the filled choices once the seats are locked.
